Slight Advancements
Peggy was told that the Red Cross would offer them any information that they had regarding what had happened to Billie, so she did her best to cling to the glimmer of hope that had been provided by the organization. There would be no official search undertaken, but they would tell her what they knew about the situation. The data started coming in, and slowly but surely, Peggy began to piece together the reality. Where might she find the answers to her questions?
Totally Committed
Wives and families were left in utter devastation during World Wars I and II when they received telegrams informing them of the fate of the people they cared about the most and the overcast and depressing times they lived through. Peggy was one of many people who never received information about their loved ones, including her Billie, but in other instances, servicemen would bring the news. Peggy’s door hadn’t been knocked on by anyone, she hadn’t gotten a telegram, and after seventy years she was still in the dark about what had happened. Peggy had nothing but love and devotion for Billie, and she was adamant that they would spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife.
