Amistad

Back in 1839, a group of African slaves carried out a rebellion on a transport ship called La Amistad. The film centers on the aftermath of such an event, which includes a court case. The film omits certain historical facts and events, but overall tend to be more realistic than most films that try to recreate history. What’s more, it presents a history to people who would not otherwise care to listen.

Gandhi

The 1982 film is based on the real-life events of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and his difficulties with the British colonial rule of his homeland, India. We see the entire journey he goes through from his ejection from an all-white South African moving train to his assassination years later.  The film was enjoyed overall by audiences in both India and International countries. Overall the film stays true to the factors, with certain exceptions for entertainment purposes.
