Nuts
If you want to store nuts in the refrigerator because you heard that their natural oil will be preserved, then you might not be wrong. However, it’s worth mentioning that the cold will actually make nuts lose their taste, and in some cases, give them a bland or cardboard-like flavor.
Butternut Squash
We certainly need to make the distinction between a whole, unpunctured butternut squash, and a cut-up one. The first kind gets soggy in the fridge and it will start to lose its flavor. The second, however, could be kept in the fridge for up to four days, but we recommend eating it before then.
