Name Much Later
However, most of us were accustomed to the “J” at the start of the name Jesus only used in the later era. The letter “J” had no similarities in the Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, and Latin alphabet or even the sounds in those languages. It was the reason why “I” was used instead. People who used the English language did use the name “Iesus” until the 18th century.
No Distinction Between I And J
The truth was the letter “I” and “J” did not have any differences in the English Language until near the middle of the 17th century. The first King James Bible was created in 1611. They also used the word “Iesus,” and for his father was formed as “Ioseph.” Did we ever think about where “J” came from? The probable answer was in Switzerland.
