In those days, they created death masks out of plaster or wax by pouring the material on the face of the dead person.

In 2010, Dr. Caroline Wilkinson used this death mask to create a rendering of his facial attributes. She used 3D imaging to create this rendering of the Bard. Many people say that it looks just like the other interpretations, although you cannot see his whole head here. He died on April 23, 1616 at 52 years old.
