Deodorizing Lunch Boxes
Is there tuna in your child’s lunchbox that is more than a week old? You can quit holding your breath every time you open it and rescue them from lunchtime humiliation with quick deodorizing treatment. After soaking a slice of white bread in white vinegar, place it in the lunchbox overnight. The stink should be gone by morning.
Clean Cutting Boards With Vinegar
After each usage, disinfect and sanitize your wood cutting boards or butcher block countertop with full-strength white vinegar. The vinegar’s acetic acid functions as a disinfectant, eliminating dangerous germs such as E. coli. Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella, and dishwashing soap should never be used since they might weaken the surface of the wood fibers. When you need to deodorize and clean your wooden cutting surface, sprinkle it with baking soda and then spray it with undiluted white vinegar. Allow 5–10 minutes of foaming and bubbling before washing with a clean, cold cloth.
