Bananas
Some banana growers in China used ammonia solutions to speed up the growth. Sprinkling the ammonia solution on the green bananas as well as covering them in plastic wrap would accomplish this. After 3 days, these bananas would be ripe and turn yellow. However, this has the opposite effect, reducing the fruit’s shelf life and causing it to rot from the inside out.
Peaches
