He was asked about the persona he exemplified and the work ethic he possessed. He replied without hesitation that it was from his father. In an interview with NPR, Sam mentioned that having spent some time with his father and his friends, all of whom were outdoorsmen, gave him an idea as to the kind of man he wanted to become.
