A Mahwah woman, in particular, had requested that a tribute be paid to law enforcement agencies. But with that blue line, that had been painted on the road where the town’s police dept is located, her wish was eventually granted.

Following that, many other New Jersey societies looked to follow suit. When the new markings were discovered in Mantua, the local police department issued a heartfelt statement on their Facebook page. “The blue line is a symbolic reference to law enforcement.” the statement explained.
