And as two more shades were added to the mix, the confusion in New Jersey grew even more. A red marking was placed to the middle of a road in the town of Dumont. A green stripe was then noticed filling in the gap here between double yellow lines further down the road.

Motorists across the city could have been desperate for help at that moment. However, these additional colors did not appear to indicate any adjustments to the road laws. Instead, they had been painted to pay tribute to a number of very special members of the community.
