It took a while to rebuild the steps of the shelter and John did not want to cut any corners in the process. He made the top step 2.5 times wider than the other stairs while securing it to the concrete wall as well. After the stairs were rebuilt, the restoration of the inside went more smoothly. People were extremely impressed by this entire process and decided to make a donation to the cause.
