Black Robe
Creating a film about another culture is difficult because you want to portray the people respectably. In these types of films, historical accuracy is an essential attribute. Thus, Black Robe focuses on indigenous people and their culture. It has been acknowledged for its accurate representation of their way of life and includes aspects of Cree, Mohawk, and Algonquin languages. Bruce Beresford brought Brian Moore’s original novel to life in his 1985 adaptation.
Come And See
War is a period of blood and brutality, lives are lost, people are injured, and tears are shed. Director Elem Klimov created a film, Come and See that captures all the realities of war through his accounts of World War II from the Russian perspective. It received some criticism from Russians saying that it was far off, but it is praised by historians for its realistic depiction of death camps and victims.
