Goodfellas

Crime reporter Pileggi and film director Martin Scorsese teamed up to create a film based on Pileggi’s book Wiseguy. The story follows a mafia-mobster- turned-informant Henry Hill, and the film closely resembles the original book. Some parts are taken out, but more or less only the narrative structure was changed. Goodfellas is based on all of Pillegi’s reportings.

The Martian

Although this hasn’t actually happened, the fictional story follows an astronaut who is left behind on Mars and must learn to survive until the next mission to Mars. Although this story is fake, it is still historically accurate because of the science that is used. It is mostly from NASA engineers and experts, demonstrating how NASA would deal with this situation if it were to occur. The script received immense help from NASA staff members to make it as real as possible. It received critical acclaim and successfully brought Sc-Fi films to real life.
