Farallon Islands, California
While San Francisco has a large number of tourists visiting each year, very few are aware of the Farallon Islands nearby. This group of islands was once known as the “Island of the Dead” by the native tribespeople. The area is supposedly swarming with great white sharks. Hardly a good reason to invest in premium health insurance.
Everglades, Florida
Just thinking about the swamps and mangroves of the Everglades in Florida should be enough to skip this destination. This area is home to aggressive mosquitoes, the only coexistence of alligators and crocodiles, and coral snakes. The latter is a relative of the cobra – a venomous snake – and it can swim. Yay!
