While her husband was campaigning, Melania shied away from the spotlight to the best of her ability. Even though she does not have the best relationship with the press, it was quite odd for a high-profile woman like her to disappear from the public eye. After all, first ladies typically stay by the side of their husbands. She avoided media coverage and even dismissed the presidential campaign of her husband. In more ways than one, she is not like the other First Ladies of the United States.
