Dovima and Jean Patchett were among the most famous models of their generation, beginning their careers in 1948. The two were best known for being the faces of Dior’s “New Look” to the world after the Second World War. The revival of the French fashion industry after the war’s austerity was credited to Dior’s New Look. The two models graced two of the most famous covers of Vogue. They also helped inspire fashion for many generations, including during the Groovy Era.

Brigitte Bardot

Brigitte Bardot, a sex symbol and fashion icon, was among the biggest stars in the 1950’s and 1960’s. This French star was the very image of the Groovy Era. She starred in 47 movies during her acting career and recorded over 60 songs. She officially retired from the entertainment industry in 1973. This picture was taken when Brigitte Bardot was on the set of the movie Viva Maria! which was released in the cinemas in 1965. She was cooling her feet at the time during her break from filming. Her role in the said movie earned her a nomination for Best Foreign Actress at the BAFTA.
