A lesson from her error
Due to the fact that she had learned from her previous error, this time she made sure the door was kept open. She quietly pulled the door shut behind her, making scarcely any noise at all. After a brief delay during which she checked to make sure that her father had not picked up on what she had said, she went in the direction of the shed.

She only saw shadows
Because she could hear her father working in the other half of the yard, it was clear that he wasn’t trying very hard to conceal his presence. She discovered that he had blocked the windows of the shed with garbage bags when she arrived there. She could only make out shadows within, thus she was unable to make out anything else.
