She got to the loctaion of the prom, which was being held at the local Methodist church. The chaperone stopped her at the door and told her that her dress was far too short. Clare knew her dress passed the fingertip test so she inquired about the rules.

Ann Duncnan was the woman in charge and told Clare that her dress needed to pass teh fingertip test. Clare protested that her dress did follow the rules but since she has long legs it made it seem like it wasn’t okay. It wasn’t the dress’s problem.
