In 1957, he performed in Canada, but he never had a show outside of North America. It is certainly peculiar that the biggest musician of the time hadn’t toured the world, and this gave rise to different speculations about the reason why he hadn’t. However, the move helped him gain a lot of respect from his haters. Actually, Presley was offered to enlist in Special Services, which meant he would be entertaining troops and living in priority housing. But, he opted to be a regular soldier instead, which helped him win over a segment of America who were initially skeptical of him and thought he was a negative cultural influence.
