His physical appearance was always something that preoccupied Elvis Presley and he liked to keep himself looking charming and young. You may have you noticed that the rock icon really liked to sport high collars but actually, making a fashion statement wasn’t the only reason he rocked them. His ex-girlfriend Lisa Thompson wrote about the other reason in her 2016 autobiography “A Little Thing Called Life.” Presley was allegedly quite insecure about his neck saying it is a “skinny little chicken neck” since he got teased about it by his parents when he was a kid.

Elvis Presley was actually a twin but Jesse Garon, his twin brother, was sadly stillborn. On January 8, 1935, his mother Gladys had a very difficult time giving birth in their two-room home in Tupelo, Mississippi. Because of what unfortunately happened to Jesse, Gladys got really ill, so she needed to be rushed to a hospital and after that, she wasn’t able to bear any more children. They didn’t hold a funeral for Jesse Garon, and the family’s patriarch Vernon Presley decided to place the baby’s body inside a shoe box and bury him in an unmarked grave, a fact that haunted Elvis very much and caused him to later search for the resting place of his twin, though he never found it.
