You read that right – Elvis would call his mother using pet names and talked to her in baby talk even when he was already an adult. This might explain why the relationship between Elvis and Priscilla fell apart after the two had a baby. Some psychologists speculated that due to the deep adoration he had for his own mother, he had a lot of difficulty maintaining a relationship with his own wife, the mother of his child.

Over the last decades, many of his critics have accused Elvis Presley of stealing “Hound Dog” since Big Mama Thornton originally recorded the track in 1953 but it just so happens that her rendition wasn’t as popular as that of Elvis’s Presley’s version in 1956. The King’s fans, on the other hand, believe it isn’t fair to accuse Presley of culturally appropriating the song due to the music industry’s nature in the ’50s, when there wasn’t such a thing as one track belonging solely to one artist. Back then, a lot of musicians performed different versions of the same song and sometimes even covers of one song which popular songwriters wrote. In addition, popular producing and songwriting duo Michael Stoller and Jerry Leiber actually penned “Hound Dog.”
