Aside from acting, she’s also a comedian and writer.

Probably the best, and most hilarious, DMV employee of all time? We’d say so. In the 2008 episode “The Euclid Alternative”, that was precisely the role Octavia Spencer played. While Octavic had made her film debut back in 1996, it was actually her 2011 role in The Help that marks her big breakthrough. Her portrayal of Minny Jackson earned her the Academy Award, Golden Globe, SAG, BAFTA, and Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Supporting Actress for that role.
