Giovanni Battista Sidotti

Apostolic missionary Giovanni Battista Sidotti was born in 1668. He traveled to Japan to spread Christianity. He wore a samurai disguise because he knew this was risky back then. He was apprehended and imprisoned until his death in 1714. He is regarded by many as “the last missionary.”
