Public Enemies: A Robe That’s Too Advanced

Taking place during America’s the Great Depression era, Depp kills it as John Dillinger, the bank robber extraordinaire. However, we spotted a flaw – the fact that the high quality and flexible material with light fibers that today’s jackets are made of were not available back then. Thus, it is hard to believe that after commandeering it from Judge Murray, Depp would sport the jacket in the getaway, making it look like the garment was super light. Judges’ robes at that time were much more rigid and heavier. Dead giveaway, right?

Even a variation of the device would not be readily available, quite compact and handy during the 12th century, which is the setting of the movie.
