The surrogacy laws in the United Kingdom are nowhere near as advanced and inclusive as they are in the United States, and after experiencing these injustices first hand, Shaniece wanted to do everything she could to fight for fair rights for everyone who wanted to be involved in surrogacy.

Shaniece had never gone through a pregnancy before, so she wasn’t sure how to explain this situation to people. She explained, “Throughout the pregnancy, I had all the questions about the babies directed at me, for example, birth plans, vaccinations, scan dates, everything.” We can imagine this is hard for someone who’s never gone through it before.
