Let The Fishing Begin!
After reaching the ideal spot, the team turned the engine of the boat off and let it sit idly. The spot they used was reliable and always had many crabs. They then dropped their lines, allowing the cages to drag on the seafloor. Crab season was coming to it’s end unfortunately. Previous weeks had seen impressive hauls and they were hoping this would be the best and most fruitful one to end the season. This had already been their most successful year to date and they hoped that this catch would be their most successful too.
A Good First Haul
The cages were now firmly planked in the water, and required two workers to man them- ensuring they didn’t get tangled. The remaining person would stay and steer the boat. It was a daily routine they knew very well by this stage. The first cages finally came back up and they were ecstatic! The spot proved to be as reliable as ever and they were very much on course for a successful day. High-fives flew around as the cages were emptied and they prepared themselves to go again.
