A lot of fans don’t know that Elliott was the voice behind the “Smokey Bear” character. What gave him such an opportunity was, of course, his amazing voice. The said character was created to promote awareness of dangers in the wildlife. Elliot did a great job in portraying the character as the bear communicated the message in an approachable, dependable, and open manner.

It may come as a surprise but Sam Elliott was actually quite critical of his work at one point in his career. In his interview with IMDB, he mentioned the fact that he did not have any formal training in acting. He went on to say that he would grab the opportunity to redo his old roles if he were given the chance.
