“I am a 43-year-old woman who did not have the confidence or the body, to put on a bikini until [I was] 40 years old,” Madelyn continued to say. She said, “I will not be discriminated against because I look too good in one.” Loud and proud she was standing up for not only herself but for women who may have gone through the same thing, she had waited all this time to look and feel good- she deserved to flaunt it.

Madelyn continued explaining the bikini she was wearing at the time, “This was not a thong. It was a standard, summertime, two-piece, string bikini… the same as everyone else, who felt confident enough in their body to wear one.” Despite body, body frame or shape, she was well aware that if someone else had been in the same bikini, they would not have received the same treatment that she did, it was completely wrong.
