In all the time that Nadya was in the spotlight, some rumors about her mistreating her children surfaced. It kind of made sense that a single mother of fourteen children would not have the ability to fully address their needs. The attention of Child Protective Services were sought and they decided to investigate whether Nadya or Octomom was really neglecting her children. When they went to her house, they didn’t see any signs of negligence on Suleman’s part. They saw no grounds for the rumors and even declared that Nadya Suleman’s home was quite suitable for children. Unfortunately, someone else with the power to change Nadya’s life strongly disagreed with the claim.

Although Child Protective Services declared her home suitable for her children, her landlord did not like the idea. And, to be honest, he’s one of the few people who probably had the power to affect her life significantly. He said that she violated the terms of her lease. He even went as far as revealing Nadya Suleman’s situation to the press before evicting her and her fourteen kids. Nadya only wanted to become a good mom to her children, but now they were about to become homeless. She couldn’t just stand by and do nothing. This drove Octomom to desperate measures.
