You know when soldiers stand “at ease” it doesn’t look so comfortable. But after standing in a certain way for a couple of years, it sort of becomes a comfortable stance, even in civilian life.

Sir And Ma’am
Soldiers are taught to be respectful. Be it the milkman, the flower lady or your parents, regardless of whom they’re talking to, they will refer to males as ‘sir’ and females as ‘ma’am’.
