Phonetic Alphabet
Soldiers tend to spell out words with the military phonetic alphabet. They will say things like “juliet” for the letter “j” “delta” for “d”. Maybe you’ve even heard them speaking right next to you and you didn’t understand what the heck they were saying.

Short Showers
When you’re in the military there’s no time to have long luxurious showers. Showers are brief because they’re a necessity and nothing more. Soldiers usually take this habit back to civilian life with them.
