Salad Dressings
It is quite common for people to put salad dressings or vinaigrette in the refrigerator. However, research shows that there is no actual benefit if you do this. There are two main components of salad dressing – oil and vinegar, neither of which needs refrigeration. However, if your dressing is your own creation, you probably use some nut oil, garlic, or fruit juice, and those ingredients require refrigeration.
Salad
If you have a vinegar or oil salad, it is completely capable of withstanding long periods of time even if it is not refrigerated. Seems crazy, right? However, if your salad has a mayo or yogurt base, then you need to refrigerate it.
