Ron Howard is best known for his roles in sitcoms such as Happy Days and The Andy Griffith Show. Howard went on to become a successful director, best known for his work on films such as A Beautiful Mind and Apollo 13. The house in the photos above was Howard’s former residence in Connecticut. Six bedrooms, a library, a movie theater, a billiards room, and an indoor pool were included in the 17,200-square-foot estate. Howard was able to sell the property for $27.5 million after owning it for nearly two decades. Ron is not a car enthusiast, but he does own a 1970 Volkswagen Beetle that he still drives around in. It was his first vehicle. Ron has a $160 million net worth and is still working and making money.
MEL GIBSON: $425M
Mel Gibson has starred in a number of films over the years, including the box office hits Lethal Weapon and Braveheart, the latter of which he also directed. His performance in Braveheart earned him a Golden Globe Award for acting as well as an Academy Award for directing. With a net worth of $425 million, his success over the years has allowed him to boast a bank account brimming with cash. He’s had a few negative run-ins with the media in recent years, and he’s been accused of domestic abuse, but it doesn’t seem to have deterred him. If his acting career dries up, he can fall back on the real estate investments he’s made throughout his career.
