MICHAEL PHELPS: $60M
Michael Phelps, a nearly invincible athlete, made history for Olympic gold medals, capturing 23 at the age of just 32. As the recipient of a larger number of medals than 161 countries, Phelps, who retired from competitive swimming in 2016, did so. With hundreds of lucrative sponsorship contracts, he is as much a celebrity money-making machine as he is an athlete. His wealth was estimated at $60 million as of 2019, an amount that enabled the swimmer to move back in comfort in a 6,000-square-foot mansion in Scottsdale, Arizona, his adopted homeland.
JARED LETO: $40M
Jared Leto has had quite a ride in the entertainment world, part rocker, part actor, all original. Before transitioning to edgier roles in films such as American Psycho and Fight Club, Leto first premiered as dreamboat Jordan Catalano in the teenage television show My So-Called Life. Jared also performs along with brother Shannon Leto in his own indie rock band, 30 Seconds to Mars. Global sales of the band’s records have surpassed over 15 million since September 2014. Jared Leto has around $40 million in the bank as of 2018, attributable to his movie business achievements and the ticket revenue of his band.
