MINNIE DRIVER: $20M
Minnie Driver, an English actress, was born in London into middle-class warmth, with a dad who served as an investment manager and a mother who was a designer and a former model. But Driver, better remembered for her starring roles in Good Will Hunting and the Speechless comedy, has found her own way around the world for around $20 million. Minnie has also been able to pursue her artistic tastes through her success in film and television; she has released 3 albums, the most current of which covers songs by musicians such as Neil Young and Elliott Smith.
TOMMY HILFIGER: $400M
Tommy Hilfiger has created an All-American-style fashion empire. A successful professional, in the early ’70s, the product of upstate New York drained his meager pocket of $150 to launch his first clothes shop, People’s Place. To immediately begin his own brand of original pieces, Hilfiger focused on the momentum of this first outlet. Since then, his name has become an aspiring term for the chic lifestyle. Tommy’s personal fortune is valued at $400 million, while his company’s revenue as of 2015 was $6.7 billion. He does not own it anymore, though. He sold it to Apax Partners for $1.6 billion in 2006. They resold it in 2010 to Phillips-Van Heusen for $3 billion. The chief design consultant remains Hilfiger.
