Donald and Melania met at a party during Fashion Week. The New Yorker said that the couple met in 1998. He went to the party with a different girl. This is the reason she refused to tell him her number when he asked her for it. Obviously, the story did not end there. Donald, always the go-getter, refused to give up. In the end, she instead took his number instead of the other way around.

Her father is quite similar to her husband. In fact, her childhood friends shared with the New York Times that the older man has a “larger-than-life personality” as well. Viktor Knavs, her father, was once a part of the Communist Party. The Times called it “an exclusive club whose members sometimes joined because of career ambitions as much as ideology.” He went on to manage motorcycle and car dealerships for a state manufacturer. The Times also said that her childhood friends also said that her father carries himself “he carries himself “in a self-assured way that now reminded them of Mr. Trump.” Interesting!
