Alternatively, it has been believed that she was seeking to make her son’s religious beliefs appear insignificant in comparison to those of the Anglican Church by her actions.

The practice of divorce and remarriage is not prohibited by contemporary church teachings; yet, the Church does not condemn the practice in any way. The Queen was asked if she was still able to play golf, and she said, “No, I am not.” She had previously been acquainted with the King and Queen. That does not appear to be anything that I am permitted to perform at this time. Several people have stated that the Queen should place greater emphasis on her role as a mother than on her function as monarch.
