They were highly involved in the battle against racism and the promotion of equality in America. However, the two had the opposite ideas on how to do it. According to reports, they were supposed to meet again, only a week after Malcolm X was assassinated. They were planning to work together and resolve their differences on the issue of racism in the United States. Three years later, Martin Luther King was assassinated.

This is a picture of the very first Mickey Mouse Club meeting in 1955. It may look like a scary photo from a horror movie today, but back then, the Mickey Mouse Club was quite popular among the youngsters. It was a variety show that often featured specials tackling the challenges that kids and teens were facing at the time. The show was also very instrumental in launching the careers of many famous stars in Hollywood. The Mickey Mouse Club continued to air all throughout the Groovy Era, and even helped shape that generation.
