Frank decided to kill these two men who were trying to fight his plans. First, Costello and Luciano convinced Maranzano to kill the other man, Masseria. Once Luciano knew that his order to Maranzano was finished, Luciano then sent some hitmen coming from Murder Inc. to murder Maranzano. With these two men who started their own mob war was out of the picture, a new era of organized crime arose.

The Commission
After the organized killing that happened to Maranzano and Masseria, without Frank Costello in the picture, Luciano decided to start his own corporation. He formed an organization that was named “The Commission” which brought all the American organized crime under his own possession. He then designated positions to the people who are involved here. His committee was represented by the leading families in the entire country. While Charles Luciano himself was proclaimed as the chairman of his own organization.
