When the ratings of Gilligan’s Island began to decline, the producers started thinking about spicing things up. They thought a new character do the trick. However, it would not be a normal character. They had an idea of adding a dinosaur, following the idea that it could become Gilligan’s pet. However, this proved to be too expensive, and the idea was never put into action.

A Wild Ride
It turned out that Alan Hale Jr. had gone through a long and rough journey just to arrive at Los Angeles for an audition. It was said that he jumped onto a horse whilst on a set in Utah. Then, he hitchhiked to reach Las Vegas. Then, he flew to Los Angeles. Of course, the end of journey proved to be fulfilling. He played Skipper so well we couldn’t image anyone taking his place.
