The Caucasian Ovcharka was from Georgia, with an average price of $2,000, and was bred to be a working dog for the Soviet Union. The Soviets chose from multiple Shepherd Dog breeds from Azerbaijan and Georgia. It was also known as the Caucasian Shepherd Dog, Caucasian Mountain Dog, or the Nagazi. The Caucasian Ovcharka came from the Caucasus mountains, where they guarded the livestock during ancient times. The Caucasian Ovcharka was generally significant, and the males could weigh up to 220 pounds, while the females could weigh up to 180.
