The advent of the little antelope, which seemed to appear out of nowhere, took the mother lion away. Gordon Donovan, a New York-based photographer, was on-site the entire time and said: “To witness such an oddity while still being astounded was an unforgettable experience. When she captured the springbok, I was eagerly awaiting the opportunity to kill one of the lions.”
