Don’t Buy- Spices
Spices are similar to ground coffee in the sense that they don’t have a long shelf life. Although they won’t expire or go bad, they will lose their flavor over time. If you’re the average person and you’re cooking for 2-4 people, stick to the smaller jars. Let’s leave the bulk spices to the Italian restaurants!

Although spices do lose flavor over time, vanilla doesn’t. Costco’s large size bottle of vanilla extract is definitely a good investment, especially to have in the pantry for spontaneous cookie baking!
