The plate was still hot! The chef had, in fact, followed the instructions and written the message. However, the dots had melted in the space between the kitchen and the table. Consequently, even though it appeared to be solid, when the blind woman ran her finders along it, she did end up in a sticky mess. Lily went immediately into crisis-management mode and dashed out to the table.

The women were packing their belongings, one of whom appeared enraged and the other who appeared to be in tears. Lily tried to fight back the flush of embarrassment that had appeared on her cheeks and explained what had occurred. It wasn’t meant to be a cruel joke. The members of the team had the best of intentions. She pleaded with them to allow her to fix it.
