While actor Stephen McGann is best known for his role as Dr. Patrick Turner on the TV show Call the Midwife, he has also appeared in several other shows and films. Emmerdale, where he joined the cast in 1999 and left in 2002, was one of his longest roles. McGann had a long career in television before he was cast in Emmerdale. He started acting in 1982 and has performed in a West End musical. While he continued to get television roles throughout his career, the stage remained his first love, and he continues to act in plays.
