Vertical Diamond Paintings
If you are looking for cheap wall art, thrift stores offer a lot of choices. This shopper, however, found out that they are typically worth more than their asking price. In 2012, Beth Feeback looked for a blanket at a North Carolina Goodwill when she learned this. She saw a group of paintings worth $10 each. One of them was a diamond-shaped abstract art piece. After buying it, she learned that it was “Vertical Diamond” by a 20th-century painter called Ilya Bolotowky. The work of art goes for $34,000.
1959 Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Alarm
A thrift store shopper called Zach Norris loved vintage wristwatches. He could not believe his luck when he found a 1959 Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Alarm! There were only 900 pieces of these made, so he knew that this was an amazing find. He shelled out $5.99 for it and had it appraised right away. He later sold it for an amazing $35,000. The buyer also threw in a $4,000 Mega Master watch that brought the value of his find to $39,000. It should be illegal to be this lucky! Oh well, good for him.
