Antique Wurlitzer Organ

There are only several hundred classic Wurlitzer organs in existence today, even though thousands were made. A thrift store shopper spotted one of them while they were looking for a poster frame. They instead left with the musical instrument that they purchased for only 25 cents. If you look for one, you will probably see price tags that say anywhere from $1,200 to $10,000. In 1853, Rudolph Wurlitzer founded the company. He initially imported them from Germany until he made his own.

Piece of the Berlin Wall

From 1961 to 1989, the Berlin Wall split the capital city into East and West. It did not only physically separate the two but ideologically as well. The West was cut off from the rest of the world until the wall collapsed in 1989. The pieces of the barrier have since sold for hundreds and even thousands of dollars. They are generally worth $50 to $1,000. A thrift store customer found a small chunk of it for only two bucks. The rock-sized portion that the shopper called a “piece of history” had the date “July 1990” on it.
