Cleopatra reigned over Egypt for nearly three decades. She was 18 years old when she ascended the throne with her young brother Ptolemy XIII. In 49 B.C., his advisers ran her out of the country. However, she managed to get reinstated with her other brother Ptolemy XIV with the aid of Julius Caesar. She later gave birth to a son called Ptolemy Caesar, believed to be the son of the Roman dictator. Ptolemy XIV died not long after the assassination of Julius Caesar, so she ruled Egypt with Ptolemy Caesar.
