When he was 35 years old, he landed what might be the most important role of his career. Of course, we are talking about none other than Thomas Magnum in Magnum. After working various odd jobs in the industry, this proved to be his big break. He then flew to Hawaii for the shoot, although it was delayed for half a year after a writer’s strike ensued. The most fascinating part here is that he worked as a handyman to pay the bills. Selleck was not someone to shy away from a challenge, clearly.

Magnum P.I. was a huge hit, which is evident from the fact that it ended with 163 episodes. Overall, they made up eight seasons in which we got to watch the actor in his Detroit cap, Hawaiian shirts, and his gorgeous red Ferrari. Fans can also recognize his mustache and pistol in a second.
