Wearing The Mask
One of Elliott’s most iconic roles was Cher’s biker boyfriend in the movie Mask. He almost didn’t get to play the role because he was on his honeymoon with his wife Katharine when the role was first offered to him. Sam didn’t want to go for the auditions as it would mean going back to California. However, Katharine didn’t agree with him, so he had to go back and do the auditions.

When Katharine learned that he turned down the offer for the said movie, she called his agent back and told him that Sam would be doing the screen test. It was very fortunate that Katharine insisted he auditioned as the movie (Mask), being a big hit in the cinemas, greatly improved Elliott’s acting portfolio.
